Sugar, Sugar is a song originally by The Archies. It was sung by Sugar Motta in the Season One pilot episode In The Beginning.
When The Unitards - the glee club at Jackson High - is running low on members, auditions are held in which new members who want to be a part of the club audition, and, if good enough, are accepted into the club. Sugar enters the auditorium confidently. She sings Sugar, Sugar as her audition song to obtain a place in Jackson High's glee club, The Unitards. Less than halfway throughout the performance, Jesse St. James, the club's director, stops the performance, because he believes her voice to be "terrible". Despite everyone (including Harmony, the lead) hating the performance, she was actually not really bad, therefore, the song was still released as a single and on The Audition Songs Album.

- It was originally believed on Glee, that this song was going to be sung by Sugar and The Troubletones at Sugar's party at her mansion, with Santana stopping the performance, much like Jesse in this performance, but there are no actual sources confirming its alleged usage.
